Now, let me start off by saying that I am by no means a conspiracy theorist. BUT there are some things about the covert operation to kill bin Laden that just don't add up.
Here are a few things that occurred to me:
1) First off, we are told that it was a Navy SEAL team that went in and killed bin Laden. That's a nice story to give to the media but it would not have been Navy Seals.. at least not entirely and they wouldn't have been the main force behind the operation. For an operation this important; this covert; this dangerous, it would have been carried out by the elitist of the elite; the people that you don't (and wouldn't) hear about in the news.. like the Delta Force or some force that we've never even heard of. That's not to say that the Navy SEALS weren't involved in some capacity. This isn't too important, but something to point out nonetheless.
2) This operation was carried out on Sunday and when we woke up Monday morning (roughly 12 hours later) we had our complete news story.. a complete account of the events including every little detail: how they went in, the helicopter that had to be ditched, the play-by-play including the woman who was used as a human shield and how bin Laden was shot, the "burial at sea", etc.
The details of an Operation of this scope.. of this importance.. with such potentially serious consequences on an international level.. would not be released so quickly. They would first have to debrief every individual who was there, everyone who participated in the operation. They would write reports for each soldier, compare them, establish a timeline, compile a final report, and then edit or redact any information that they didn't want the public to know.. anything that would be deemed classified and important to national security. This process would involve many government agencies and many people and, in my opinion, would take a hell of a lot longer to complete than 12 hours. It's almost as if they already had the "story" prepared for the media.. "here's your story for the morning news."
3) We've been looking for this guy for 9 and a half years. We find him, kill him, and then DUMP HIS BODY IN THE OCEAN?? Huh?!?!
4) bin Laden was "hiding out", supposedly for years, in a compound that was located in a neighborhood where retired Pakistani military officials lived.. it wasn't necessarily a remote, hidden location like in a remote mountain region. And nobody noticed the 18 foot high walls with barbed wire on top and the lack of telephone and internet service????
5) a few months earlier, the news media reported that a "diplomat" from the U.S. Embassy in Pakistan shot and killed a Pakistani "civilian" in the packed streets of a Pakistani city. He was arrested and is being held for murder by the ISI (Pakistani intelligence agency). The U.S. Embassy never registered this man as a diplomat with the ISI and so he didn't have the proper diplomatic credentials. Can you say "covert operative"??
Now usually, since it is U.S. policy, when a covert operative is caught in a foreign country, the U.S. government will either a) disavow all knowledge of the existence of said operative and he's on his own or if the operative is important enough they will b) secretly negotiate with the foreign officials for the release of the operative or if possible, just go in and get him by means of a covert op.
What they usually do NOT do is PUBLICLY negotiate for the operative's release. And that is exactly what the Obama Administration is doing. Perhaps the operative's mission was something that would be very embarassing for the ISI.. like maybe a meeting with an ISI official who was supplying information to the U.S.?? (Source info for this news story- The American Conservative magazine)
I don't know what this all means. Nor do I know what's really going on. The Obama Administration's account of the operation might be true. I don't know. BUT something does sound fishy about the whole thing.
Obama is up for re-election next year: maybe it's a way to help him get elected to a 2nd term.
Maybe we already had Osama bin Laden. Maybe we have proof that he was already dead and took credit for it using a staged fake operation. Maybe bin Laden is still alive and either in U.S. custody or being protected.
MAYBE this was all a huge diversion.. to distract the American people or the world while something sinister is being carried out. With everyone yelling and cheering in the streets, I would definitely say that the American people are completely focused on and occupied with the whole thing.
MAYBE the sentiment of the public will be used to get us to accept some action by the government that we would normally object to.. the same way George W. Bush used the sentiment of the country after 9/11 to invade Afghanistan and later, along with some manufactured fear, to invade Iraq.
OR MAYBE I'm wrong and I'm just being a paranoid conspiracy theorist. But to tell you the truth, that's not who I am.
KEEP YOUR EYES AND YOUR MIND OPEN.
